Workshop held on the necessity of using Co-compost Fertilizer

 A workshop was organized with the Directorate of Agriculture Extension on the necessity and importance of using Co-compost fertilizer produced from human waste, funded by Water Aid Bangladesh on the initiative of Saidpur Municipality and SKS Foundation recently. The workshop was presided over by Md. Ziaul Haque Zia, Panel Mayor of Saidpur Municipality. Mr. Md. Abul Kashem Azad, Deputy Director, Agriculture Extension Nilphamari was present as the Chief Guest at the workshop. Mr. Md. Azharul Islam, District Training Officer, Tangail, Department of Agriculture Extension was also present as Special Guest. Md. Sirajul Islam, Additional Deputy Director, Crop Agriculture Extension Department was also present in the program. Mr. Nazrul Islam Tapadar, Project Coordinator of SKS Foundation delivered his welcome speech, explaining the purpose of the workshop at the event. Project Officer of Water Aid Bangladesh Suman Shah also spoke in the workshop. In the workshop, Mrs. Homaira Mondal, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Saidpur, Nilphamari presented the issues of Soil Condition. Mr. Md. Azharul Islam, District Training Officer, Department of Agriculture Extension Tangail, described the experience of using compost produced from human waste. Finally, the Deputy Director, Nilphamari explained the reasons for the use of co-compost fertilizer in crop production, soil extension with the role and activities of Agricultural Extension Directorate. He also told that he will co-operate with Saidpur Municipality like Tangail, regarding co-compost fertilizer production.
